GUEST MISSIONARIES
Josh & Morgan Barton
Mozambique
Both Josh and Morgan grew up in Christian homes and were saved at early ages. Josh served as an assistant pastor in Tennessee for several years. In 2021, they took a missions trip to Peru together where God confirmed to Josh and Morgan that He wanted them on the mission field. Since then, they have interned in South Africa with Vision Baptist Missions; it was during this time that God called them to plant churches in Mozambique. Josh and Morgan are expecting twins this fall, and could not be more excited to follow God’s will for their family in the country of Mozambique!
Jim & Terry Bracelin
Silent Word Ministries
Jim was raised in a Christian family and was saved when he was six years old. Jim, with his wife Terry, served as an assistant pastor and as a senior pastor from 1980-1999. In 1999, the Lord led them to be used as missionaries with Silent Word Ministries. They hold Fantastic Saturdays, evangelistic meetings with the deaf, start deaf ministries, and help existing deaf ministries. Their desire has been and continues to be to use their lives to reach lost people with the Gospel, specifically the Deaf.
Edgar & Rosann Feghaly
Middle East
Edgar was saved at the age of seven in his native country of Lebanon. After graduating from college in 1980 in the United States, he returned to Lebanon to plant the Bible Baptist Church in Haddath, Lebanon. From that base of operations, he reaches out to Lebanese, Arabs, and the people that come from various African countries to work in Lebanon. Dr. Feghaly and his wife, Roseann have two children, and have seen God’s divine intervention in keeping their family safe in the midst of unyielding terrorism and warfare. Edgar and Rosann continue to actively plant churches in the Middle East.
J.T. and Rebekah Gorham
Missionaries to the Deaf
J.T. and Rebekah serve as Missionaries to the Deaf with Silent Word Ministries. J.T. began losing his hearing while in college. While volunteering at a Deaf camp, the Lord burdened his heart for Deaf people. Rebekah is Deaf and has a burden to develop a video-based Christian Education Curriculum for the Deaf. They also take teams on short term international mission trips to give young people the opportunity to serve on a foreign mission field and become burdened for ministry and missions!
Grace Jackson
Japan
Grace grew up in a Christian home and was led to the Lord at a young age. The Lord called her into missions at a summer camp during her college years. She transferred to Bible college where she met a friend who shared the need for the gospel in Japan. During one of her college summers, God used a missions trip to Uganda to clearly show her that His will was for her to go to Japan. Grace is excited to start serving the Lord in the country of Japan!
James and Nina Kim
Church Planters in California
James grew up on the mission field of Australia, where his father was a church planting missionary in Sydney. Nina grew up in Seoul, South Korea where her father pastored. After graduating at Bible college, they were married and began a Korean ministry in Alabama. The Lord has begun to burden their hearts for church planting, and God has called them to plant the City Light Baptist Church in Irvine, CA.
Esteban & Alejandra Marquez
Mexico
Esteban and Alejandra were both born in Mexico but later moved to California with their families. They were saved at early ages, and both surrendered to go to Bible college for one year. Individually, the Lord called them into full time ministry. Esteban served on staff at a church for six years. Esteban and Alejandra were married in 2016 and were accepted as missionaries through BIMI that same year. They have two boys and are very excited that God has called their family to Mexico to serve Him! They have now been serving there for three and a half years, and their church just celebrated its one year anniversary this past May.
Margaret Stringer
Former Missionary to Indonesia
God saved Margaret when she was 11 years old, and she dedicated her life to be a missionary when she was 12. In July 1964, she went to her cannibalistic mission field, which at that time had become a part of Indonesia – now Irian Jaya or West Papua, Indonesia. For 40 years and three months, God gave Margaret the privilege of working in the Citak tribe on the southern coast of Irian Jaya. Margaret reduced their unwritten language to writing and translated the New Testament into two languages. In “retirement,” Margaret speaks in churches, Bible colleges, christian academies, ladies’ retreats, etc., and has written two books about her experiences with the headhunters.
Derek & Julie Thomas
Ukraine
Derek was saved at the age of 12. After graduating from college, Derek married to Julie and entered the business world while serving in a local church. In 1995, he and Julie surrendered to the call of missions, and in 1997, they moved to Vilnius, Lithuania. The Lord allowed them to begin Vilnius Bible Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Institute. In 2007, the Thomas’ moved to Missouri to lead the church plant/re-start of Faith Baptist Church. He pastored for 7 years, and it was during this time he became involved with Slavic Baptist Institute, a ministry located in the Ukraine to train national pastors and workers. Derek and Julie now faithfully serve in Ukraine, providing aid and sharing the gospel in this needy country.
Rusty & Cassandra VanDonkelaar
Deaf Church Planting
Rusty grew up in a Christian family and was saved in Bible college. In 2015, after visiting Greenville and seeing the need, Rusty and his wife Cassandra surrendered to the Lord’s call to start a Deaf church there. Rusty now is the pastor of Palmetto Deaf Baptist Church, where Deaf are able to “hear” and understand the Bible in their natural language. Rusty and Cassandra are both deaf and have four children.
